The Kamloops Farmers’ Market started in 1978 and has grown to include two outdoor markets per week starting in spring (Saturdays starting the 2nd last Saturday in April, Wednesdays / Midweek market starts 1st Wednesday in May) and running until the end of October, in two outdoor locations in Downtown Kamloops (Saturdays -200 block St Paul Street & Wednesdays-400 block Victoria Street). At the beginning of November the market switches to an Indoor Winter market, (it’s most recent location for the past couple of years has been the Purity Feed greenhouse at TteS). The Indoor Market runs from November until just before the Christmas holidays, and starts up again in late January and runs until early March, before taking a short hiatus until start of the Outdoor Market again.
The Market is a venue for local farmers, food makers, and artisans to connect with the people of Kamloops / Tk’emlups and the surrounding areas. It also provides opportunities for local community groups to connect with the public about their programs and initiatives. As well there is live music / performances provided by local buskers.
The Market organizes several special events each year including Seedy Saturday (March), Pollinator Festival (May), Tomato Festival (Sept), and a Street Food Fair (Oct - on hiatus).
We encourage everyone to come check out the markets and be a part of the market community—discover the wealth of knowledge, talents, and skills we have in the farmers, food makers, artisans, buskers, and community groups, which makes our communities more resilient.
