Chase and Area Family Services (CAFS) is a community-based registered charity dedicated to creating opportunities for children, youth, and families in Chase and the surrounding area. Guided by a mission to build a thriving and connected community, CAFS delivers a wide range of accessible, low-barrier programs that meet people where they are.
In 2025 alone, CAFS ran enrichment-themed summer camps, after-school programs including Zoology Club, Art Explorers, Youth Jam, School of Rock, and art therapy, as well as EverWild Explorers forest school, Chase Community Jiu-Jitsu, and the Chase Cheer Program. Through the Riverstone Family Resource Centre, CAFS connects families to essential supports, supplies, and services. Programs like the Caring Cabinet, Backpack Program, and Birthday Program ensure no family goes without the basics.
CAFS also leads meaningful work in food justice and environmental stewardship through community gardens, pollinator gardens, and the P̓úsme Food Forest and Wel Me7 Yews Garden sites. In 2025, CAFS partnered with the Working Group on Indigenous Food Sovereignty to deliver the Wild Salmon Caravan, and collaborated with Adams Lake Indian Band to organize Chase's first Community Truth and Reconciliation Event, commemorated with a permanent art installation.
With deep roots in the community and partnerships spanning local schools, Indigenous nations, service organizations, and businesses, CAFS punches well above its weight as a small-town charity making a big difference. What makes CAFS exceptional is not just the breadth of what it offers, but the genuine care, creativity, and commitment that drives every program it delivers.
